Invitations.... some are DONE! And ready to go!

I did it almost all by myself, from design to making the pocketfolds, to printing and adressing everything... I ordered the envelopes and the silver stickers online, and had the main invitation printed at Vistaprint. So, here's the result!

I'm so glad with how they turned out!

It's been a while...

I finished reading the Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud two weeks ago, and I just can't get it out of my head, it's soooo good.... For all ppl who were disappointed by the last installment of HP, I strongly suggest reading it... Stroud's got the guts to end his story the way it should be.
So, I got inspired, and sketched a little... so... here's Nathaniel!

I'm back in Montreal now, and we're BURIED under snow! Winter is incredible this year, but I'm not complaining, I adore white winters.... :)

OMG, isn't this just so cool!!! And product recipes

http://www.simondale.net/house/

I think that's awesome. I would like it if we'd be living in those.

Oh, and here is my recipe of homemade cleanser of everything, but especially nice for floors!

Oh and while I'm at it, why not write down the recipes I use as hair products. I don't use any shampoo or conditioner anymore. (Well, I use conditioner to get cassia obovata mud out of my hair, but that's only twice a month)

Woah! I got carried away! I'm tired now... good night.

Save the Dates!

Finally came up with a design that both FH and  I like, and I think we're gonna go with the brown one. This is just a mockup, accents are missing, "Invitations will follow" is missing, and the circles in the back are very crappy. I'm going to do real nice ones in Illustrator. So here it is:

Thanks to the weddingplans community for their help!

Back to work.... argh.. it's hard to stay focused when I know I'm leaving in two weeks!!!

Once again, ugly weather

But, at least, my brother got the two nicest days of the last two weeks in Wellington. First time he visited two weeks ago, we got terrible weather. I was so disappointed because I wanted him to see the beauty of Wellington under the sun. It's just not the same when it rains.

Anyway, I'm so happy he came, I can't even tell. :D It was weird to see him leave though, it reminded me that we're leaving in less than a month too. I hate airports. It means leaving, being ripped from a part of my life. (I know you could tell it means new beginnings, but I have a slight tendency to see the glass half-empty).  I can't wait to be in Montreal, but I'm going to miss Wellington so much....

Aaaand the All Blacks lost. It was hard to watch, to tell you the truth.

It's monday for me, so back to work!

High winds!

It's so windy today in Wellington, I'm sure the roof is going to take off. It blows so hard it makes my desk shake!

Started a Snape sketch yesterday, don't know if I'll ever finish it though, I get bored very easily with my stuff.

Oh well, back to work!

Snaping

Quick doodle of Snape on the morning of the final battle. I guess this is taking place at Malfoy Manor.

I took a picture of it with my Nikon Camera, since my scanner is broken.

Interesting fact: Here in New Zealand, and in Australia too apparently, seasons change on the 1st instead of the 21st... so, we're in spring since September 1st! (Not that it feels like it)

I'm number 5!

I took the following quiz... it's pretty good!

http://www.blogthings.com/whatnumberareyouquiz/

You're independent - and a logical analytical thinker.
You love learning and ideas... and know things no one else does.

Bored by small talk, you refuse to participate in boring conversations.
You are open minded. A visionary. You understand the world and may change it.

At Your Best: You are sharp, inventive, and creative. You have the skills to lead the world.

At Your Worst: You are reclusive, weird, and a bit paranoid.

Your Fixation: Greed

Your Primary Fear: Being useless or incompetent

Your Primary Desire: Being competent and needed

Other Number 5's: Bill Gates, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Bjork, and Stephen Hawking.

Oh, and boyfriend is currently matchmoving Hayden Christensen, while I animate some random elite soldiers.... *sigh*, life's not fair!

FRIDREDI

It's beautiful outside.... 16 degrees and sunny, almost no wind.... it's so hard for me to work today, it's not even funny!

Did some sketches for our Save the Dates and Invitations.... tried to find a way to have cool invitations without them costing us too much money to print....

The Save the Dates

Left is the inspiration for it. I don't really like the typo, haven't found something that pleased me yet. The only problem here is the format... for it to be really cheap would have to be a postcard. Don't know what I'm going to do about it yet. Have to find a solution soon, because we want to have them printed as soon as we're back in Montreal so we can send them asap.

Invitations

Ok... the reason why I chose something like this: First, I buy generic red envelopes separately. No fancy shmancy detail on the envelope that would cost us a fortune at the printer... in the worst case, do something by hand with a glitter pen or something.
The invitation and RSVP card per say would be on off-white textured paper, with a brown border, and brown writing. Just 1 color of ink. Cheaper.
Map card would be printed with still the same ink color, only on gray paper.
If I feel like it, I could do a foldable thing instead of separate cards and rely it with a nice brown ribbon by hand. Not sure about that though.

(Sighs)

Okay, back to woooork... I have to refine some animations... it's the part I like less because I never know when to stop. Dargh... Well, at least, it's friday, and there's 2 hours to go before the weekend. Woohoo!!

update on several stuff

I'm coming back to Canada on november 2nd, midnight! Now that our tickets have been pre-ordered, it seems that our time left here will pass very quickly! I'm so excited...

We finally settled on a date for the wedding, it'll be on Labor Day weekend, on saturday the 30th, 2008. Our venue will be Auberge du Faubourg, at St-Jean-Port-Joli it's here  http://www.aubergedufaubourg.com/chaudiere-appalaches-inn/index_ang.cfm
It's 20 minutes by car from my mother's house, and we can have the ceremony there in the garden as well. :)

There's another wedding dress that I really, really like, it's this one:

I don't have this much boobs though... But something similar to that. :) And I like the hair as well.

Speaking of hair, I've ordered some cassia obovata online today, I want to try that stuff... It's supposed to make hair well conditioned and shiny... well, since the no-shampoo thing, hair near my scalp is very healthy, but my ends are very distressed since I don't use any product to hide the damage from coloring, straightening, heat drying, etc. I think the cassia could do marvelous things to it.

Well, I have to go back to animating now...

my toes are freezing

Another day of work... still posing, took video references of myself with my boyfriend's mac. Pretty easy to do using imovieHD. Still struggling, but less than yesterday. Also, looking for venues for the wedding. It seems easy, but it's far from it. The place we liked very much is too small, and that's when we realised that we're going to have a big wedding finally... well, we both have huge families, so that's it.

That's me today:

I know, I know, my hair is ugly, I badly need a cut and coloration, but can't do anything until I'm back in Montreal!
I'm wearing my father's old coat, it's very warm, and I'm glad I brought it to New Zealand with me. But I've locked myself in the office with two heaters, so it's not so bad. Just my feet that won't warm up!
Moko wants to come in through the office window, so I'm going to let her in now...

Later!

It's tuesday lunch time, and i'm trying to pose some characters.... some poses are harder than others, and these ones are pure torture! I'm trying and trying, and nothing good seems to come out of it. This is me:

Yup... gotta get some soup soon. I'm hungry!

Weasley and coffee

Yup, it's sunday pm, I'm drinking coffee, and sketching in Photoshop. While listening to yes, Arcade Fire again.

Apart from that, I've finally found what style of wedding dress I like.... Woohooo!!!

Potter fun

I was exchanging doodles with a friend of mine today about Deathly Hallows, and I had this image constantly into my mind. I sketched it on my notepad, but my scanner is broken so I drew it quickly in Photoshop (which I suck at for line drawing).

ok, back to work now
